This paper introduces the definition and current development status of digital delivery, andelaborates on the application and development of BIM technology in digital delivery, it delves into thecontent and format of digital delivery, quality control of deliverables, and the functions and constructionmodes of digital delivery platforms. The BIM platform promotes cross-disciplinary and multi-partycollaboration, enabling compliance assessment, data storage and sharing, cloud browsing, communication and collaboration, cost control, quality supervision, and data analysis. However, theapplication of BIM face challenges, such as inconsistent technical standards, limitations in informationsecurity and privacy protection, and difficult to collaborative cooperation. By analyzing the digitaldelivery of a large commercial complex and a city subway construction project, this paper reveals thepotential and limitations of BIM in improving the efficiency of engineering information transmission, ensuring information security, and promoting multi-party collaboration, and proposes correspondingsolutions, drive the digital transformation of the industry, and achieve sustainable development. It alsodiscusses the progress and existing problems in the research of engineering digital delivery, clarifies themethods for BIM technology to more effectively serve engineering digital delivery, and provides guidancefor technological development and industry practice.
