Building Waterproof Branch, China Construction Industry Association

Building Waterproofing Branch, China Construction Industry Association (CCIA) was established in October 1988, affiliated to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the PRC. It is a branch of CCIA. The association is a national social organization, approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, consisting of institutions and enterprises throughout the country engaged in waterproofing research, design, construction, management and production of waterproofing materials. Its operations are under the leadership and supervision of CCIA.

Aims: Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the association is committed to the mission of building a strong waterproofing nation, promoting the sound and rapid development of the waterproofing industry. It strives to serve its member units, the waterproofing industry, the government, and society, acting as a bridge between enterprises and the government, while providing valuable advice to government departments. The association adheres to the Constitution, laws, regulations, and national policies, resolutely safeguarding national interests and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the industry and its member units. It advocates for reform and innovation, promotes technological advancements in waterproofing construction and materials, and raises the overall technical level of the industry. Additionally, it strengthens industry management and supervision, regulates market behaviors, and promotes the sustainable and healthy development of China's waterproofing industry.

Working Guidelines: The association is committed to instilling a strong service-oriented mindset, following the principle of using professionalism to serve and regulate the industry. It provides comprehensive services to member units and enterprises, adhering to a meticulous and pragmatic work style that focuses on practical actions and tangible results. It emphasizes the importance of building integrity, promoting industry self-regulation, ensuring survival through honesty, and seeking development through integrity. The association is dedicated to contributing to society with advanced technology and high-quality products.

The working fields of the branch include:

(1) Propagating and implementing the policies and strategies of the state on the construction industry, assisting CCIA to promote industry management;

(2) Carrying out investigation in the industry, reporting the demands of building waterproofing enterprises, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of members and make suggestions to relevant government departments;

(3) Promoting advanced concepts, popularizing scientific knowledge of building waterproofing, organizing various types of technical exchange activities, promoting the improvement of building waterproofing theory and technology, etc.

(4) Promote the development of applied technologies, encourage the integration of materials and construction technologies, as well as business and industry integration;

(5) Conduct professional training for talents and workers in the waterproofing industry to improve the overall qualifications of industry practitioners;

(6) Provide various consulting services for the building waterproofing industry.

Organizational Structure:

The association is governed by the Council and the Secretariat. The Secretariat is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the branch. The association has appointed 50 renowned waterproofing experts from both domestic and international backgrounds to serve as the standing advisory body.

Under the direct leadership and support of the CCIA and the affiliated unit, China Construction Technology Consulting Co.,Ltd, and with the strong backing of its members and the Expert Committee, the association adheres to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It has continuously improved its adaptability to market demands and its ability to serve the industry. The association rigorously fulfills its responsibilities to "provide services, reflect demands, and regulate behavior." Focusing on key tasks such as standard setting, research projects, technical information exchange, business training, and consulting services, the association has actively explored new frontiers, made significant progress, and achieved excellent results in strengthening industry management, reflecting the needs of enterprises, organizing continued education and training to improve waterproofing technology, promoting technical exchanges, and providing consulting services.

 

Engineering Construction Academic Committee, the Architectural Society of China

Engineering Construction Academic Committee, established in 2010, is a branch of the Architectural Society of China. It is a national social organization voluntarily composed of units engaged in engineering construction investment, design, construction, education and research, management, component production, and local industry organizations. The committee is affiliated with the Yatai Construction Science & Technology Consulting Institute Co., Ltd., with its Secretariat of Engineering Construction Academic Committee located at the Journal Office of Construction Technology.

Planning Background: Since its establishment in 2010, the committee has organized high-level academic activities under the leadership of the main society. It has supported the society by facilitating training sessions, recruiting members, recommending awards, and establishing a party branch, effectively serving as a bridge for the association. The committee has provided strong technical support to advance new construction methods in China, promoting high-quality development and contributing to the overall progress of the engineering construction industry.

Aims: Relying on the support of its members and the scientific community, the committee aims to uphold its core mission by fostering innovation, driving reform, and strengthening its academic authority and public image. The committee seeks to enhance cohesion and appeal among its members, encouraging them to focus on scientific outreach and technological innovation. Ultimately, the committee aims to develop into an authoritative and well-regarded academic organization within the industry that effectively meets the needs of its members and aligns with the evolving reforms in the construction sector.

The second session of the Council of the Engineering Construction Academic Committee held its re-election meeting successfully in July 2022 in Xi'an. The list of personnel for the second session of the council is as follows.

Over the next five years, guided by the dual carbon goals, the 14th Five-Year Plan, and the Vision for 2035, the Committee will formulate development plans that align with the themes of new industrialization, smart technologies, modern infrastructure, urbanization, rural revitalization, green development, and high-quality growth. Our efforts aim to make a significant contribution to the high-quality advancement of China's engineering and construction industries.
