Abstract:
This paper addresses the issue of groundwater accumulation caused by human activities indesert areas and its hazards to underground structures, the mechanism of groundwater accumulation indesert areas is analyzed. The spatial distribution characteristics of aquiclude within desert geologicalstructures are identified as a necessary condition for groundwater retention. By integrating quantitativeanalysis of surface water infiltration types and seepage volumes, a calculation method for groundwaterrising velocity is established. Based on the groundwater rising velocity, the waterproofing environmentalcategories for underground structures are determined. Combined with chemical analysis of sands in desertfoundations and considering the designed service life of buildings, a protective design method based onthe synergy of dynamic waterproofing and anti⁃corrosion mechanisms is proposed. This research providestheoretical support for enhancing the durability of underground engineering in desert areas, which caneffectively solve underground structure problem caused by groundwater rising in desert areas.
