Abstract:

Relying on the subway reservation project for the new Guangzhou Baiyun Station ( TangxiStation) project (BYZSG1 section) at the Guangzhou railway hub, this paper proposes to use the elementtracking method and the birth and death element method in the ABAQUS finite element software tosimulate foundation excavation. The horizontal displacement of the retaining structure during foundationexcavation is analyzed and compared with on⁃site monitoring data. The results show that the combinationof the element tracking method and the birth and death element method in the ABAQUS finite elementsoftware for simulating foundation excavation is feasible, and the simulation results are consistent with themeasured results. The measured maximum horizontal displacement of the retaining structure is 10.64mm,while the maximum horizontal displacement obtained from simulation analysis is 7. 84mm,with adeviation of about 26%. The maximum impact of foundation excavation on the horizontal displacement ofthe retaining structure occurs at 3 / 4 of the foundation excavation depth.
