Construction Technology and Environmental Impact Analysis of Mechanical Sinking Well in Soft Soil Strata

Abstract:

With the increasing demand for urban underground space development, urban shaftconstruction faces numerous challenges due to environmental factors such as traffic, undergroundpipelines, and adjacent buildings. The mechanical sinking shaft construction technology, characterizedby its automation, intelligence, and mechanization, has gradually become an effective means to addressthese issues. Based on the E⁃30 and E⁃31working shafts in the THK1.3 section of the Taihe WastewaterTreatment Plant expansion project, this paper introduces the equipment selection, environmentalprotection measures, and actual measurement data analysis during the construction process of mechanicalsinking shaft technology. The research results show that by increasing the reinforcement length at thebottom of the ring beam and setting up permanent Larsen steel sheet piles, the displacement ofsurrounding pipelines during the construction process can be significantly reduced. During the mechanicalsinking shaft construction process, the horizontal inclinometer curve of the deep soil layer exhibits apattern of being large in the middle and small at both ends,with the peak located between the reinforcedbottom of the ring beam and the undisturbed soil interface. The rate of change in soil settlement and deephorizontal inclinometer values follows a pattern of being fast initially and then slowing down withincreasing excavation depth.
