Abstract:

This paper investigates the mechanical response of steel deck pavement under the couplingeffect of deformation, temperature and wheel load in the cold area. Relies on the Zhaowuda Roadelevated bridge in Hohhot, aiming at four typical steel bridge deck pavement structures, the temperaturefield and thermal stress of steel bridge deck pavement under different temperature environments areanalyzed by finite element simulation method. The results show that the temperature field of pavementlayer under different temperature environment was basically the same, and showed periodic changes likethe external temperature. The temperature environment with large temperature difference was moreunfavorable to the force of bridge deck pavement. At the same time, the low temperature mechanicalresponse of steel deck pavement under the coupling effect of deformation, temperature and wheel load wasanalyzed. The results show that considering the influence of bridge structure deformation on bridge deckpavement, not only the stress of the pavement structure is increased, but also the periodic change time oftensile and compressive force on the surface of the pavement structure was shortened, which was morelikely to cause fatigue failure. The mechanical properties of the pavement structure combination of “lowerpoured asphalt concrete + upper epoxy asphalt concrete” are better at low temperature.
